2020 Annual General Meeting

As a valued member of OSEA we invite you to join us for our 2020 AGM and Special General Meeting this Wednesday, 21 October 2020 from 4.30pm - 6.00pm at 16 McBride Street, Dunedin.  Please register here.

We will be providing refreshments after our AGM and SGM, so this is a great opportunity to socialise and network with other OSEA members, and come together as a business community.  We look forward to seeing you there.

AGM

The minutes of our 2019 AGM and our 2020 agenda are available.  The 2020 Annual Report is now available online in the member-only part of the OSEA website.  If you need a password, could you please email info@osea.org.nz.

Our AGM guest speaker will be Seán Brosnahan, Curator at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum who will be giving a talk on early business in Dunedin at the time the OSEA was formed in 1890.

SGM

At the special general meeting on 21 September 2020, the members voted in favour of the following resolution: 

1. The approval of the Otago Southland Employers’ Association Incorporated (OSEA) being a founding member of a new Incorporated Society to be known as Business South Incorporated (Business South);
2. The approval of OSEA entering into such arrangements as the Board determines appropriate with Business South so as to, over a reasonable period of time, transfer all the assets and operations of OSEA to Business South;
3. The approval of OSEA putting forward six initial Board members for Business South on incorporation;
4. The approval of OSEA taking such steps as the Board determines appropriate and necessary to ensure that a transfer of all the assets and operations of OSEA to Business South; and
5. The approval of OSEA winding up all its affairs and the entity in a manner as determined by the Board at such time as in the Board’s view the entity is no longer active other than as a member of Business South.

The business of the meting will be to consider the following items:

1. To confirm the resolution passed on 21 September 2020 pursuant to Rule 32 of the Constitution and Rules to confirm the winding up of the OSEA.
