Virginia webHappy new year to you all.  We are starting this important election year with our free member ‘employment relations roadshow’ in Dunedin, Invercargill, Queenstown, Cromwell, Wanaka and Oamaru, with the OSEA Solicitors David Browne, Adam Siwerski and Stu Adamson along with Paul Mackay the Manager Employment Relations Policy at BusinessNZ.

This year will be challenging for employers as we wait on the outcome of various reviews important to the workplace including the Holidays Act, independent contractors, pay equity and fair pay agreements.  We will provide an update on these and more at our roadshow.

We are receiving a lot of questions on the changes to immigration.  ImmigrationNZ have a free webinar for employers explaining the change to the employer-assisted temporary work visa system.  If you have any other immigration questions, our Solicitors will be able to assist.

Our popular Health & Safety Forum is on Thursday 14 May in Dunedin, and Friday 15 May in Invercargill.  We will have more details on the forum available shortly.

We would also like to welcome three new Board members, Nina Klemm (Breen Construction), Maree Aoake (Skyline Enterprises) and Darryl Munro (Aurora Energy).  We would also like to thank Sharon Paterson and Joanne Conroy who after many years of service have resigned this year.
