It was great news to see the upgraded Free Trade Agreement with China and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreements both signed recently.
This makes it easier for our export members to reach larger economies, and reduced tariffs and clear trading arrangements will also make this much simpler.
It is disappointing that India is not in RCEP, as this would have delivered a massive market for NZ goods, but the deal is still positive for NZ as it helps 15 countries align on trade rules in our region.
India is an increasingly important market to New Zealand, including close links with the large Indian population and a number of businesses here
