Mike Burrell – the Executive Director of the Sustainable Business Council (SBC), which is part of BusinessNZ – is coming to Dunedin and Invercargill to brief members on SBC’s new strategy, their merger with the Climate Leaders Coalition, their Climate Action Priorities report, and their upcoming response to the Climate Change Commission.
These briefings are free for members and $35.00 plus GST for non-members.

Mike Burrell joined the Sustainable Business Council, which is part of BusinessNZ, in January 2020.

Mike’s previous role was New Zealand’s High Commissioner to South Africa, with accreditations across the Southern Africa region.
Before this, Mike was the Director of Sustainable Economic Development for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He also served in Myanmar as Acting Ambassador.
Prior to this role Mike was CEO of Aquaculture New Zealand, representing New Zealand’s marine farming industry. Before that he was with the international consulting firm LECG, where he advised industry, government and international agencies.
Mike has over 25 years’ experience in leadership and consulting roles in New Zealand and internationally.
Mike has degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Canterbury. He is married with two children.
